In the heartland of Bihar, the tradition of making Pithas has been an integral part of our cultural heritage, passed down through generations. As we embrace the innovations of the modern world, let us not forget the significance of preserving our traditions. Learning the traditional art of making Pithas is not merely a culinary skill; it is a connection to our roots, a bridge between the past and the present. By embracing this age-old practice, the new generation not only inherits a delicious tradition but also becomes a torchbearer for cultural continuity. Let us come together to learn the artistry of crafting Pithas, ensuring that the warmth and flavor of our heritage endure for generations to come.

Pithas are a variety of food similar to pancakes, dumplings or fritters, originating from the India. Pitha can be sweet or savoury, and usually made from a dough or batter, which is then steamed, fried or griddled. Very few varieties are oven-baked or boiled, and most are unleavened and cooked on a stovetop (or equivalent).

In this class you will learn the traditional way of cooking Pitha, the Bihari way.
