Currently, a professional food entrepreneur engaged in a family owned business since 2014. The area of actively is confined to its research & development and production of bakery & confectionery food articles. The retailing is primarily through online channels.
In addition to above, I do float online and offline cooking/baking classes frequently and conduct workshops in Bengali, English and Hindi or mixed language languages for clear understanding of my students as per group choices.
So far I have successfully conducted around 125 classes/workshops on various topics in the field of bakery & Indian cooking. As a special guest, I have been participating in cookery shows of food magazine ‘Hengla Hneshel’ for its YouTube channel on regular basis.
Recently, I have started my own YouTube Channel named as ‘Umar Henshel’ in Bengali for the benefit of homemakers having greed to learn various cooking recipes of various Indian states.
As a gesture of acknowledging my cooking experience, Food magazine has empaneled me in its list of Jury to adjudge best ‘Puja Bhog’ (Offerings) among participating Durga Puja Committees across Kolkata.

For the past 15 years I have been associated with various cookery shows and conducted numerous classes and workshops on cooking and baking using both online and offline modes of teaching.

Cooking is one of the most basic needs everyone requires to know in this heavily independent and fast-paced world. Some like the art of cooking and baking, while there are some who find it overwhelming or some who simply don't like to cook. But over the past decades of my life, I have time and again understood that cooking can be a really fun activity - a way to express feelings as well as to feel full by simply cooking for a loved one. And this can be made possible if taught in an easy and fun manner. One of my specialties remains that I prefer short recipes and use easy-to-get ingredients, mostly ones that are already available at every home, at almost any time. Using such simple ingredients, by mixing this and that in different combinations, we can make so many dishes; it is, in fact, amusing to some extent. Also, I always prefer to keep my classes interactive as I try to incorporate my students' opinions and ideas, while also clarifying all their doubts. At some point of my life, I was also one of those people who came to dislike cooking. But today, here I am - cooking and baking became my hobby, my passion. So, I hope to make my students start loving and enjoying cooking and experimenting with this art.
